Frequently Asked Questions
Here are answers to our clients' most common questions. If you don't find what you're looking for, feel free to reach out. We're excited to connect with you!

What is Reiki?
Reiki is a gentle, holistic healing practice that promotes relaxation, reduces stress, and eases anxiety through soothing, hands-on energy work. By enhancing your body's natural energy flow and balance, Reiki supports overall healing and well-being.

How does Reiki work?
Reiki treatments promote relaxation and restoration, helping to reduce stress and release tension throughout the body. By supporting the body's natural healing processes, Reiki encourages more effective functioning. I am not the healer—your body is. I simply facilitate its innate ability to heal.

How should I prepare for my Reiki treatment?
For your comfort, we recommend wearing loose, breathable clothing. Stay hydrated - preferably with water - and enjoy a light meal beforehand, avoiding heavy meals for a few hours prior. It's best to avoid caffeine and/or alcohol at least three hours before your session.

For in-person sessions, please arrive about 10 minutes early to settle in without feeling rushed. Be sure to plan ahead for potential traffic or parking delays.

What should I expect from my first session?
During your initial session, we will go over some brief intake paperwork and discuss what you are hoping to gain from your Reiki session, questions, concerns, etc. We will then begin your Reiki session which involves the following:

-
Lying on a Reiki table fully clothed on your back
-
Reiki involves a hands-on healing technique – often on the head, shoulders, arms, legs, and feet (during your intake we go over your experience, triggers, etc.) Reiki is not a massage and should never require you to undress.
-
Once your session is over, we will sit down together to go over your experience, follow-up questions, concerns, etc.

At Dragon’s Gate Reiki, LLC, we are certified, licensed, and insured, ensuring we can collaborate with insurance companies that provide Reiki coverage.

At Dragon’s Gate Reiki, LLC, we proudly welcome and support clients of all faiths and backgrounds.
